AndyVRSexy 0
Hi, I live in Northampton and am wondering who it would be best to take my Golf VR6 to for servicing. Its in need of a thorough service given last one done sept 2005 at 58k and now on 73k (only picked it up in April, not my fault!). I think whilst I've got the cash from selling my old car it would be worth spending the money on this and also getting the timing chain looked at as it is a bit noisy-not having owned a VR6 before i dont know if the noise level is normal or not......Where best to take it??? VW dealer or is there a specialist in Northampton area that anyone can recommend? Would greatly appreciate any advice.Cheers,Andy.

SankysVR6 1
I think C&R enterprises is in your neck of the woods. Seem to across quite good in the Golf+ magzine.or just take frive upto stealth racing, heard nothing but good stories about these guys.
VR6Pete 1,455
second that Sanky's Vince built me a new engine not long ago, and has replaced the chains in my old engine too in the past.
AndyVRSexy 0
Cheers guys, What kind of price will I be looking at any idea? I guess it depends what they find on inspecting the Chains etc but just so I am prepared for the worst.Thanks.
matth76 1
Definitely take it to Stealth mate. They are less than an hour from you...well worth the trip. I would stay away from main dealers unless you have cash to burn. I took my vr to my local vw main dealer when I first got it and my car was running really poorly after wards - turned out every single one of my 6 plugs weren't fully tightened. A full service at my main dealer cost £250 - 300ish! Therefore Stealth would be somewhat cheaper. Best bet is to ring them - I'd expect £150-£200 depending on what they do.Stealth are one of the best in the UK when it comes to the vr engine.
