9" wide front wheels.

Hi everyone not really posted up on this site much but I do visit quite often.

Just got a quick question for anyone out there running nine inch wide wheels at the front, how does it drive and also what work is involved to allow fitment and how much it cost you.

I've got a mk3 GTI 8 vavle, and would love to fit 9 inch wheels at the front (i'm bit of a dish whore, lol) but my friendly local wheels and tyres specialist is strongly urging me against it, saying it would cost too much and not handle well.

Mine handled very well. It gripped the road like it was stuck to it. My wheels were ET15 and i had to have my arches rolled all round as I had mine low. I ran 215/45 tyres which to me was a sensible stretch, others use different sizes for a mental stretch.

Only problem is you really should use coilovers so you can run em on firmest setting to minimize rubbing

You can run 9 on the front but as craggsy says ..use coilovers to reduce damper travel..

So am i right in thinking that the only mod i have to do is roll my arches.

i was under the impression that I had to get my front arches pulled aswell.

how much archwork will depend on the offset of the wheel... I had 215/40 tyres on my 9s
