Edmonzo 0
Does anyone have a Jetex stainless system on their VR6?I'm looking to upgrade my system soon and someone had recommended one of these - They do the oval tailpipe -mmmm!What do they sound like and do they last well?On another matter, my '95 VR6 keeps on losing power and sounding like it's being choked whenever the engine gets hot when sitting in traffic etc.i changed the induction filter back to a standard panel filter thinking that the engine may be taking in hot air, but it's still doing it.It chugs and pops at about 1000rpm and struggles to do anything. II can switch the engine off and back on again and it appears to be fine.Any ideas???
kobi 0
only guessing but may be a heat temp sensor? My sister had a similar problem on her Escort and took it to ford who charged £80 to carry out a diagnostics and then said they werent sure...Another Ford mechanic checked it and changed to compression sensors and then said change the cat as its clogged... still no joy... my dad ( an ex mechanic) changed the heat sensor - i think - and its ok now. i think that would be why your experiencing problems once the engine heats up and not at cold. Mind you i could be totally and utterly off the mark as i'm not technical
mark@vagworx 0
Not heard anything about the Jetex system on a VR, but in general, Jetex tend to be built very well and aren't overly loud........noticeable though
speedo 0
I have a jetex, and highly recomend it for quality, and exhaust note. Nice and deep, but not load, and it burbles on over run 8o) .as for your problem, is your fan cutting in ok? and at what temp.?try changing the 4 pin coolant temp. sensor as it controls the ecu and gauge. can you smell petrol? get your returnn fuel line checked/ fuel pressure. When was fuel filter last changed?
eViL 0
I have a Jetex. No complaints.. very quiet compared to my previous scorpion system which was shite.
Edmonzo 0
Thanks for your replies guys:The fans kick in at about 90 but saying that, I've noticed that once the engine gets to normal operating temp. it never goes over that, even when sitting in traffic on a hot day. Is that normal? No smells of petrol, but the exhaust note appears to go much deeper when it happens.Where is the 4 pin coolant temp. sensor situated and anyone have any ideas how much it costs?Cheers.
