Ok please bear with me - I'm trying to type this so that no one falls asleep before they have gotten to the end.

Starting to assemble bits for the VRT conversion but in a nutshell I'm looking to be running a T04S on standalone management, Allard custom chargecooler, usual goodies.

I'm going to lower compression to safely allow for a fair bit of boost - via LC pistons as opposed to a spacer gasket, reason being is the engine is getting an overhaul anyways.

The main question is, would it be wiser or more beneficial to take the bore to 3.0? My rationale is that the extra cc's may help a little with driveability when its not on boost? Also can you confirm or deny that 3.0 is a safe overbore on the ABV (2.9) engine? Some seem to say yes, some seem to say no. Or by lowering the compression that far (to @8.5:1) I will lose all driveability in the quest for bigger boost?

cheers
