Auto Accoustics Stealth Box

Recommended Posts

Has anyone got one of hese in their golf? I've just bought one to house my sub and have got 2 wee problems...

1. It ain't exactly 'stealthy' it sticks about 10cm out into the boot &|

2. It doesnt stay in place! ~:(

Ok problem one I can live with.

In the literature that came with it, it says 'it grips the boot like a limpet... it'll only move when you want it to' mine seems to be missing this limpet like nature and just moves when it likes!

just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem if so any solution?

Sorry can't answer your questions Justin, but was wondering how much you payed for it? Does it sound any good and what size/type of Sub your using in it? Ported or sealed box?

Been toying with getting one for a while now to reclaim my boot!

Have you tried some of that industrial Velcro tape from Halfords? Have used that on a few sub boxes and it really does grip well.

Simon.

They cost £149

Dont know about the sound as I didnt want to screw the sub in until I've spoken to auto acoustics

10" vibe is going in it

They do 2 sizes (volume) but they only do sealed.

I think it's because I got the bigger size it sticks out that bit further making it a bit front heavy so it tilts forward. The smaller size probably wouldnt do it but at 0.65cl I thought it was a bit too small. There's velcro on the box but its badly positioned so doesnt do a lot! I'm going to call auto acoustics later and see what they suggest.

ps www.autoacoustics.com if you're interested mate (I ordered mine through Halfords)

i have bought one of these, got the smaller version of it myself, fits as snug as a bug in a rug with no sloppy play. got mine off auto accoustics website as ex demo for £99 but when ordered it they realised they'd sold the ex demo and not deleted it from the site, so had to make me a brand new one for the same money! bonus!! cant say how it sounds as i'm still waiting for one of the brand new rf subs, has been over 5 weeks waiting now and getting miffed to say the least! to get the right sound you need to matching sub to enclosure volume!

i'll try to get some pics of mine up for you guys(minus the sub of course, grrrrr). on the box side of things, justin is right about the volume and protrusion thang, but the reason for the extra volume is depth of sub bass required! a smaller sealed box will produce tight punchy bass, and tens are reknowned for being the best at this, the bigger box is for those that like a bit more low thump than punch, and is also dependant on the type of music you listen to i guess! i need a bit more room in my boot currently, so will be giving this box a good workover soon, although after two kenwood tornado tens(excelent subs imo) it might sound a little quiet out back!
