Tristinh 0
Hi, just a quick little thread, I have the facilities to produce polished ali gear knobs and engrave the tops. I was wondering if there would be any interest in these for members. There is a sample of a knob in my album. Please have a look and if you have any question/sugestions etc let me know. The picture doesn't do it justice as it was taken in the dark with a flash. Sugestions for the engraving on the top would be great. The area to work on is approximately 30mm dia.[ dsc00006.jpg ]
VR6Pete 1,455
glad you like to keep your nails looking neat I'd like to see a better picture of the finish of the knob. Thanks
Tristinh 0
I will get a better picture soon. But All I can say is that the finish is mirror. The top left part of the flat on the knob you can see the reflection of the cigarette lighter. Its good
binliner 0
LOL @ pete Look nice whats the price?
Tristinh 0
Ive got to do some calculations but it would all depend on material as I can make them in my spare time. What sort of price would people be willing to pay?

What sort of price would people be willing to pay?Personally I probably wouldn't have one cos it wouldnt really fit with my interior but I reckon £25-£30?
Tristinh 0
This one uses a plastic gromit type thing to hold the gator flush to the knob using the original plastic split thing. The knob is attached to the shaft with a single m6 grub screw which is tightened to secure. This way if there is any detail on the flat surface it can be lined up square. Sorry about the un technical wording.
binliner 0
sounds good quality to me better than the richbrook type stuff

dubloke 4
how do they fit if you are no longer using the standard gaitor? i have a snappy gaitors one now , and can you make them round at the top too instead of flat?
Tristinh 0
Ive got the standard gator with a machined nylon collar pulling the gator close to the knob (mine needs adjusting as there is a small gap). The actual knob fixes to the shaft using a 4mm grub screw. I have no problems in making them round but with the flat on gives me a chance to engrave something on the top ie.
