anorak 0
Insurance has gone mental in the last few years hasn't it?I had a 2.8 Capri at 18 (yeh, I know !ill ) and a V12 XJS at 19 (I wasn't a pimp either) and never paid more than £400 3rd party for cover. That is going back some time (bloke with a flag had to walk in front of your car) but £7k for insurance !dodge

Nerih 0
everyone should start with a slower car (<2.1L). Its just better to learn to appreciate it, then when you do have a powerful car (like the vr) you learn to respect it, and in this way you save your acceleration and high top for situations that need it (like when a nova is sitting next to you at lights, cops will see this as 'jolly well played' heh). I drove a 1.6 for the first 2 years of my driving life and i'm glad i've got a 2.8 vr6 now, which is honestly the most wonderful (if not thirsty) car i've owned. Its truely a marvel to look at (once its done properly) and drive. In saying that i still wouldnt give up the time with the 1.6 that taught the bread and butter of driving safely...hence no points on my licence ...yet.... %-6 i still think driving one at 18 is a little 'rich'[ Edited Fri Oct 01 2004, 10:13PM ]
Slim 0
If I had a VR6 when I was 18, I'd probably be dead.
