Focker-out 0
Who has done it? Is it as simple as remove it and blank up/ remove the pipes to the tank??Cheers
xyber 1
Ive heard its not needed, but if you take it off along with its bracket, you can relocate it to the same space on the opposite side of the engine bay and extend the 2 hoses
Eat this 2
i took mine off iirc its just an open pipe running under the engine
vr6newcomer 1
most pointless thing under the vr6 bonnet mate, or is that the plastic spark plug tool? disconnect it, if you really want to remove the canister go for it. mine is still there but i may bin it to make space for an oil catch tank for my crank breather. binliner 0
Block off the black hose (the one that recirculates)Leave the clear one (the one that comes from the fuel lines) open and tuck it out of the engine bay somewhere
SiGainey 1
anyone got some pics?
xyber 1
I relocated mine to a shelf in my garage last week when fitting my charger with no probs, clear hose is stucking thru inside wing, black one is blocked with a bolt and jubilee clipped
lewvr6 0
where exactly is this located? and whats does it actually do? if it doesnt do much id like to get rid of mine! if i can find it!
xyber 1
under the airbox, black plastic cylinder. It takes vapour from the fuel tank, filters it thru charcoal and then puff it into the inlet, part of emmissions control, but fine to take off, I even checked with stealth to be 100%
lewvr6 0
nice one mate! i now know what the clear and black tubes are now then.so just block off which ever one goes to the inlet then?
amazak 3
This might seem like a dumb question, but why remove it? Does it make a difference to the performance? Thanks
xyber 1
Yep block the one that goes to the inlet (black)AMAZAK- no change in performance, just makes room for some type of induction kit that have the filter down inside the wing or supercharging
binliner 0
This might seem like a dumb question' date=' but why remove it? Does it make a difference to the performance?Thanks[/quote']No it doesnt make any difference, the only reason to remove it is if you have a charger and need the space to run the filter down or to make room for a cold air feed
binliner 0
just noticed thats already been answered
jims13 6
take it off, its mainly for emissions a.f.a.i.k, i lost mine almost when i got the car.no problems since its been off, and it makes fitting airfilter/supercharger easier.
