SiGainey 1
Nope, gonna live with it then buy a spare box and recon it myself and then get a garage to swap em with the clutch at the same time
spanky 0
I had this problem with my old box, which finally gave up ( got a recon one with 2 year / 24000 mile warranty, fully fitted inc collection of my car, for £550)Every now and then, with the new 'box, when under heavy acceleration I go for third and miss it, especially after driving my dads MK2 GTI. This is because the throw on the VR's is so much longer than in the GTI.Are you sure some of the problem is not down to human error, ie missing the gear when changing it quickly? philtvr 0
Have you checked the adjustment on the gear cables, i had trouble getting fifth and one of the adjustment cables bolts was loose so i t was pot luck if i got it. I used this link http://www.houseofthud.com/shifting_gti.htm to check the adjustment and then found the loose nut, works a charm now.
Donkey_Punch 0
no i mean i checke dit wasnt me, i pushed the clutch in fully, waited till my foot touched the floor... then changed and it still did it ... so im guessin syncros, as it only gear 3.
