warwickA2VR 0
I want to chip my vr6 but when I looked into it I found its got a soldered on chip - great!! ~What are the options here. Do I need to buy a different ecu and what years did vr6's have replacable chips. Will any other ecu's fit and work the same? (mines a '94 - crap year obviously for vr6's)
binliner 0
Its best to get it remapped properly on a rolling road... speak to Stealth Racing. Also this thread might be of interest...http://www.vr6golf.co.uk/forum_viewtopic.php?10.2132
warwickA2VR 0
Cheers Binliner. So can the standard ecu be reprogrammed or will Stealth need to put a new chip in the ecu to do this. Also could I use a ecu from a mk3 gti (theres more of 'em about at the scrappy) as it uses an ecu called a J220 like the vr6. I don't know if its exactly the same, though. VR6Steve 0
As binliner says, talk to Stealth, or even better still, as they are not far from you in Southam, pop in and see them.
