Donkey_Punch 0
Ayup peeps.. whilst sat on my arse, missing inters coz of my dislocated shoulder.. i did much pondering about striping the beast out. at the moment i have a normal interior and i have upgraded the sound system, 2 heavy ass subs and a mdf box, 6x9's door speakers, head unit, components. should i strip it all out and take the back seats out, and have a pair of light weight bucket seats in the front, and at a later stage have a cage installed. take the door cards off and replace with some sheet aluminium replacements???or leave it as it is??!!WHAT DO YA THINK ??? craggsy 91
It depends what way you want to take the car.......you can still have a fast car with all the luxuries.
stusnook 0
I've had similar thoughts. Craggsy is right - depends what you want the car for. If its going to be a track weapon, then srtip it all out, sell the bits, including the I.C.E. and spend any money you re-coup on a roll cage and/or performance parts. But, if its going to continue to be your daily driver for commuting and whatever, and you'll only do 1 or 2 trackdays a year, then you might as well keep the luxuries. Keeping it standard(ish) will probably keep the re-sale value higher than if you stripped it too. (This may be irrelevant - I'm not sure how much you've done to the car already in terms of suspension/engine/brake upgrades etc)As much as I'd love to take a car and strip it and upgrade bits to make it track ready, I suspect that its probably cheaper to buy one thats already been done. Plus the reality (for me at least) is that I can't afford to run a road car and a road-legal track car. (Non-road legal track car would be a cheaper option, BUT thats no good for me as its got to be road legal to be able to use it at the Nurburgring )
