spanner junkie 0
Hi, Im hoping somebody may be able to point me in the right direction as i have a problem with my engine in my 93 VR6!The problem is.......From start up the engine revs bounce up and down and it cuts out occasionly. There is a slight misfire at idle once the engine has warmed up a little but generally there arnt any problems as to the running or performance of it when you put your foot down!.Im not sure if this is related to the problem but my Beru coil pack seems to be making a 'ticking' sound,is this normal? And the exhaust gases out the back have a funny smell to them!(Smells like its running rich)Ive had the car a few months now and am slowly working my way through the problems that the last owner didnt sort out! Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

spanner junkie 0
HiI've got the same problem - where do I find the idle control valve and how do I take it off?ThanksPaulHello PaulThe idle control valve is located underneath the black cover on the top left of the engine, undo the cover and look for a silver cylinder shaped part with a couple of pipes going to it,undo the pipes and slide the cylinder out of its rubber holding strap...all i did then was blast it inside with carb cleaner until it cleared all the gunk out and ran clear.Andy
magic_tree 0
Just a quick question, what does your Beru coil pack look like? I got a coil pack yesterday for 93 quid. It is black and for Ford/Merc! I was assured it was the one I needed. It works fine, lots more power, but I was wondering who made it and whether it was a Beru on.
