budgie 0
hi peeps i am just about to get my engine re built and managed to find someone that will do it for a very good price therefore saving me about £600, now i was thinking about what engine /performance upgrades i could buy and have installed as the rebuild is taking place.I thought of cams or ported and polished head but to be honest im not too clued up in terms of knowing if a remap was needed if cams were installed etc....please can anyone advise on such things as p+p heads and cams, can i run standard new engine parts and install performance cams, would injectors have to be replaced?...stuff like that...my car has a 6 branch and de-cat pipe, also a bmc cda inductin kit at the mo. The engine work to be done is piston rings (standard bore) timing chains, tensioners, clutch. thanks for any help...my car is a 2.8 obd2 engine.
6potmkII 0
might aswell get the steel headgasket while the engine is in bits, and for the 600 you have left maybe cams as chains will be coming off and you wont need to pay labour, and a remap
