I'm no expert on this matter (I'm still running standard wheels and standard suspension!) BUT I believe the idea is to keep the rolling radius the same when you increase wheel size. This way the speedo remains accurate and you don't effect acceleration performance.

You can use the link below to input standard wheel VR6 sizes and it will recommend tyre sizes for 16 inch wheels.

195/45 16 to keep rolling radius the same...........thats waht I have. 7x16 front 8x16 rear also 928s

Easy way to think about it is every 1" wheel size increment go down 1 profile size. ie standard size 205/50 15.....to your 16" wheel will be 195/45 16. Go to 195 width because slight wheel increase will give a chance of rubbing with a 205 tyre
