Stoo the worm 0
hi guys, im just about to fit a set of 16inch 928 wheels to my VR and was wondering what size tires would be suitable for lowered susspension
stusnook 0
I'm no expert on this matter (I'm still running standard wheels and standard suspension!) BUT I believe the idea is to keep the rolling radius the same when you increase wheel size. This way the speedo remains accurate and you don't effect acceleration performance. You can use the link below to input standard wheel VR6 sizes and it will recommend tyre sizes for 16 inch wheels. http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp
Phat VR6 3
the tyre fitter will tell you.
craggsy 91
hi guys' date=' im just about to fit a set of 16inch 928 wheels to my VR and was wondering what size tires would be suitable for lowered susspension[/quote']195/45 16 to keep rolling radius the same...........thats waht I have. 7x16 front 8x16 rear also 928s
craggsy 91
Easy way to think about it is every 1" wheel size increment go down 1 profile size. ie standard size 205/50 15.....to your 16" wheel will be 195/45 16. Go to 195 width because slight wheel increase will give a chance of rubbing with a 205 tyre
alfy 7
hi will 205/45/16 tyres rub on standard suspension. Does anybody have this set up on there vr6?

Stoo the worm 0
i was considering 205/45/16...but will i get problems with rubbing the arches.....oh yeah, they are 7.5x16 on front and 8x16 rear. Also a fitter told me not to put 195s on these wheels, as in his opinion they are not safe
Stoo the worm 0
also...isnt there a risk of wheel damage when going over a pot hole with 195s
Phat VR6 3
Ive always wondered about streched tyres and thought you could damage your rims round hevey cornering as well?? I want as much tyre/grip i can get to the road but they do look shit hot streched with good wheel to arch aliment
