Ferry Dover to Boulogne (SpeedFerries.com, dirt cheap and fast), drove to Penmarc'h via Avranches and back via Normandy (Bayeaux). VR felt like it was made for Autoroute driving and, despite carrying the wife's entire wardrobe in the form of two massive suitcases (apparently you HAVE to have options!) which made the back look seriously lowered and the front point in the air, it didn't miss a beat the whole trip.Recorded the figures for posterity...Miles:1648 Avg Speed:48mph all at 30.0mpg exactly!!!!Pretty good, I think, especially as it needs a new cat!!! Did notice the oil temp was up quite a bit and was around 104 - 108 (and 110 when it reached 30C outside!) but I guess this was down to the extra weight and the air-con. It used about a litre of oil in that time which I expected but it's gonna get treated to a oil flush and change, new plugs, brakes all round and a cat replacement pipe just as soon as the pay check comes in!!!!Am I happy with my VR?
