alivr6 0 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Share Posted August 5, 2004 ok peeps, just placed a bid on the above item, but thing is its for an obd1 engine and mine is an obd2, whats the difference and will it fit on my car. i asked the owner and this is his reply:Hi there, Thanks for the interest. The manifolds are from an OBD1 corrado VR6. I beleave the manifolds from engine code AAA and ABV are identical. The throtle bodies are diferent and obviously the ECU. Should not be a problem. dubloke 4 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Share Posted August 5, 2004 i believe the 2.9 tb is slightly larger internally than the 2.8, although no doubt someone from here will confirm/contradict this. it will therefore be of no significant gain as you need the tb to to make any inlet advantage, and it is also designed for a big valve head so, it will not gain you anything on the standard set up! unless you plan to purchase for future upgrades i could think of wiser ways to count your cash! bearing in mind a good big valve head is gonna cost you the best part of a grand fitted! FishWick 21 Posted August 6, 2004 Report Share Posted August 6, 2004 The 2.9 and 2.8 throttles share the same throttle butterfly diameter but the 2.8 has a very pronounced step in the TB mouth, which the 2.9 TB does not have. This was there on the 2.8 to make the throttle response more pogressive. Link to post Share on other sites
