bugwhizz 0
Hi all, i've just bought a 92 Golf VR6 and in the 3 months i've owned it , it's had a really low idle speed of 550-650rpm!! but sometimes either when cold or hot it's idle will fluctuate quite badly sometimes to the point of stalling!!.I've given it a full service inc plugs, leads, cap, rotor all filters (Genuine) and replaced the head Gasket and chain tensioner as they were both needed but nothing seems to affect the low idle speed and the fluctuations???I've owned G60's up to now and if this were to happen to a G60 i'd replace the ISV to cure the idle speed fluctuations but what about the low idle speed???Any help would be much appreciated :( :( Not much fun havin a poorly VR!!! VR6Steve 0
I do not think you a too far off what it should be. Thinnk its supposed to idle at about 660rpm?
bugwhizz 0
I have two friends with VR's and there's both idle at 750 rpm and do not fluctuate or stall like mine does??, i think i'm too far away from Stealth as i live in Skipton N YorksDo you reckon the ISV could be to blame??, not sure myself, i know it would cure a G60 idle problem but have no idea about VR's, steep learning curve here i come!! DundeeDub 0
Mine sits just over 500 when the engine is nice and warm, can go below just at the final bit of braking. Any ideas?
