Roof Bars Golf Mk 3 VR6

Hi

I need to buy some roof bars for my car and am confused. Thule sell roof bars but only for golfs without sunroofs...which must be every mk 3 golf in the uk?

So......

Any idea why Thule won't sell roof bars where there's a sun roof?

Is there a difference between the Thule and VW ones?

Any idea where I could get some lockable ones second hand rather than paying stealership prices?

I've just bought some Thule 404s off ebay, they seem to come up quite often, paid £51 including postage. Mine's got a sunroof and they fit fine, don't understand why they specify that really...

You can use thule bars 404just make sure you dont over tighten them. the mk3 sunroof car roofs are missing the roof strenghing bar that non sunroof models have so the roof is slightly weaker. To avoid the risk of people damaging there roofs thule advised for non sunroof models only. But you can use em just be carefull.

Ive got a set that came with my car if your interested? Theyre proper VW i think, just sat in my garage taking up room, Ill have a look at them tomorrow and see what condition theyre in as ive never even looked, just put them in their box in the garage the second i got home from buying the car

Right, they are Votex roof bars. as new in box, never used, with instructions and rubbers and tool kit. Open to offers
