hellsVR6 0
Ok, noob here but call me a thicko..lolI got my beastie (left) recently and although I've read your 'How to tell a real Highline' thread I'm well confused...so here's my "is it or isn't it" list and I'm hoping you can help.My log book doesn't say Highline. No Tick.Group 17 insurance. Tick. Boo! lolIt's a 1995 Auto which is black. 1 tick off list as I know they only did the 2 coloursIt's fully kitted out internally with black heated leather. Tick.Aircon - TickVR6 badges ONLY to front, rear and doors - Tick. Mine doesn't even have a 'Golf' badge anywhere.Trim - well it's a MkIII so it actually has what looks like a GTi trim, i.e. red and black?? 'X' off listBBS Alloys - Tick but cross-spoke and not 6-spoke 'X' off list...Electric Sunroof - TickThe 'guide' and the piccys seem to refer to the later Mk IV VR6's whereas mine is from 1995 so 1st edition maybe? No blinkin idea. Tis all new to me and only my second V-Dub (had a MkII Golf many moons ago and was brought up in a Bug/Bay environment :-* )Need to check a few other points as well..So. Do I have a Highline Auto in disguise or...as I now suspect...a standard Auto which has been kitted out very very well???Will have to take some more piccys and let you guys decide..hehe Ah stuff it. So I'm not one of the Nineteen. I'm still one of 140-odd and that's rare enough isn't it! It's totally unmolested and believe me - it is staying that way!

hellsVR6 0
Cheers dude, you have a PMOr if you have a really really good magnifying glass, you can tell my reg off my avatar..lol
VR6gaz 0
Personally Id say No, simply because its not on the logbook :-( but it sounds well spec'd even if its not a Highline
jesterwalker69 0
Sounds to me like a very well kitted out standard VR. But nowt wrong with that!! In fact i think they make for better cars..... for no particular reason other then thats exactly what mine is lol!
hellsVR6 0
Well it appears I'm not one of the 19 and posh exclusive 1995 Highline owners club...lol*sulking...* hehe...So Jester, you were right dude!
craggsy 91
Nothing wrong with non highlines......mine has Recaro's and climate control and the same LC9Z paint as highlines. So mine is better spec'd (i think) than a Highline
xyber 1
Its not a highline, but as craggsy says they arent the highest spec, mine is also better spec than a highline, on my log book im only missing on optional extra (climatronic) but I have A/C so Im not bothered, cheaper insurance too
matth76 1
Shouldn't be group 17..should be 16 for a non-highline..unless I'm mistaken?Again, as above, nothing wrong at all with a non-highline. You can't get the mystic blue paint in a highline (which is personally my best colour) and I'm personally not a fan of any wood trim in a car. But that's just me. No difference at all in engine, performance output, etc, all the same. Only difference is the interior cosmetic trim.
hellsVR6 0
Well my previous insurers were too scared to take it on..lol so the nice man (a very nice man,,hehe) at the AA reckoned on it being a grp 17. In any case my insurance premium has gone UP, which I expected, but he kept my excess DOWN which is nice.Yes I think we should start a new 'Bog Standard Unmolested VR6 Owners Club'... lol
jesterwalker69 0
Yer man, mines not a highline but got full heated beaver leather interior and its gorgeous Mystic Blue which a highline couldnt be bought in so i get the best of both worlds!!The only thing i havent got is A/C but i got windows, air vents and a sun roof and means i carry less weight so who cares! lol
Focker-out 0
Im a non "highline" too and TBH i dont see what the fuss was about, mine has a far nicer spec than a highline, climate and black leather recaros, it has all the highline trim too, and IMO is in the best colour a vr comes in!! purple highline monster 0
yeah but you had to drive from scotlanmd to essex for the recaros! have you sorted ya wheels yet mate? have been a bit busy lately so im trying to catch up wiv the gangs goings on
Focker-out 0
Worcester for the recaros, wheels are fine dude, just need to sell up now.
philbatesvr6 0
mine aint a high line either but mines better speced all the toys inc climatronic, i thought vw did this to all the later P-R reg ones to get rid of em ready for the release of the mk4 ?
