Hello, recently I've noticed that the plastic part (ring) marked in the first 3 pictures broke. I can here the air flow there and you can see oil all over that part.

I thought that this part itself can be replaced but when I asked VW service they told me that it's only a part of the integrated whole which has to be replaced (see below)

Any proposals? The VW service's advice is rather expensive, I hope there is a cheaper solution, besides I heard that it (the part in 3rd picture) should be removed as it causes that the engine gets dirty air with oil

Its basically a valve for the engine oil gases to get recycled back into the system I think. When I fitted my supercharger I took mine off and just have a pipe running from there to the charger intake pipe.

They are cheap from ford, but take the old one with you to match up as there are 2 differently shaped versions. I got a quote from VW and they charge & times more than Ford!!! Worth doing asap just incase as its connected to the vacuum pipes it might start causing running problem

You dont need oil going back into your throttlebody mate, u have a few options, get the new part, or run a pipe from the breather to the underside of your car, and block the other end up, or you can invest in an oil catch tank that will breathe back to atmosphere, in my opinion, your better off without it, like i said before, all you want going through your throttlebody is bloody cold air!
