purple highline monster 0
its only open chat like this that gets everyone realising we all pretty much think the same stuff!! its a shame the government dont realise that!!! I am proud to be British...i love my country...i love my flag....if i see fit to show this in a possitive way as any other proud member of any other nations does, if you live in Britain then you should accept the British way...accept the customs..beliefs...the fact that coppers muck about in Britain you are FREE to have you own individual beliefs but i think in the main most of us respect others that dont have the same ones as us, apart from the obvious ones but dont get me started on that subject!!!God save the Queenthis is not a racist symbol
Earwig 89
I am more than happy for the Police to have a good time. As has been said, they are only human ! Just as we are !In many cases they have more need to blow off a bit of steam as they deal with some pretty nasty things day in, day out.I have been stopped several times in my car for a "Spot check" and I have no problem with this. If I had something to hide then sure I may kick up a fuss but until that day I shall let them do what they do :-)Since this has gotten on to british views and culture, I will add my eggsto the basket :-)I think we are losing a lot of our "English" indentity and I am not happy about it.I have no problem with other nationalities coming here, but they need to respect the country and it's heritage and not try and change it to their ideals. If you don't like the way we are then don't live here and don't change us.When 80 Year old ladies get told to remove her collection of ornamental pigs from her window sill as it "May offend muslims" you realise just how silly things are getting.Fact is, it seems to be a select few do-gooders that seem to kick up a fuss like this which in turn gives the Muslims etc. . a bad name when in fact they probably don't care in the first place and would never even have thought/mentioned it in the first place.I am sure it will stop in time as it simply cannot go on.No matter what color/race/religoen, there is no reason why we caqnnot all get on together without all the do-gooders trying to make trouble !:-)Mark. mike 6
Tescos!!!! how can the 2 proffesions be compared? :S.....being proffesional is part of the job...but releiving some stress or mucking about isnt anything anybody else ever does at work is it??? come on just coz its coppers makes no difference. people put "the police" on a higher plane than other occupations just so they can "knock them down" when it suits as they are the "law keepers"those guys are traffic police aswell' date=' so those guys deal with long boring days and hours in the saddle or in cars and deal with stuff like serious or fatal accidents and such like day in day out, so i dont personally see anything wrong in letting off steam a bit...its not racist..its not offensive...and its not hurting anyone...besides all of that it may be his lunch break? does everyone get an hour every day? well the police dont!!!!! grab it while you can untill the next call for help of some sort comes!!! people often forget its a 24hr service and whilst they tucked up in bed some people arent!! |-) i think the police in this country are taken for granted due to our relatively "soft" laws...we got it easy here...people just dont realise or appreciate that sometimes[/quote']i meant muckin around while in uniform then posting it on the net .....i wasnt comparing the level of skil involved! i work at morrisons btw lol .....i dont much around at work...,,i leave that till im out of uniform and cant get in trouble/injured. they may have been on there lunch break but they may not have... i dont really care tbh.... deffo taken for granted...as we would be screwed without them...same as fire service...but just a small point...there is a few local coppers near me that have been tw@ts with me over the years....mainly due to me have a modified car and young(ish).... I have had the same experience as the 80yr old lady mentioned above. (no, not waking up in a puddle of piss!) The story goes back to about this time last year when i worked at the Rural Payments Agency (a government run agency to pay subsidies to farmers). I turned up to work at 6am and was walking back out the door at 0610. Why? Because i was wearing an England football shirt! Fair enough its not the smartest thing to wear to work, but there was no uniform so that wasnt the reason. The actually reason was that "showing support for England during national events may cause offence to those not of that nationality and therefore no visible support shall be shown whilst in work"!!!!! And to make it even better, one of only 4 asian guys i worked with came in wearing an India national cricket top............ not a word said.... hmmmm.
