Recommended Posts

just read this on another site . thought id share with all

Has anyone else worked out that they can sort of hack the mfa in their vr6, might also work on gti's..

Basically, press and hold the trip reset button, without letting go of the button turn the ignition to no 2 (just before it starts the car) then turn the ignition completely off then start the car (don't let go of the trip button till now) now the digital milometer will display "1".

By pressing the trip button it will scroll through numbers 1-8, they all give various readings.. Number 7 displays electronic rev gauge which is quite cool..

Thought i'd share.. And don't worry, when u turn the ignition off it will reset back to showing the miles etc.

Have fun

hope it aint somthting that gets reposted everyday :-p

Hahaha ! Sounds fun !

I have done the original trick before. Was kinda fun. More imnteresting than the usual display. I believe one of the other things there is a speed reading. It gives your true speed, which is lower than the actual odometer. :-)

Mark.

Hi...

Do these settings reset when the ignition is turned off??

I was resetting my service indicator the other day and somehow stumbled into this "settings" system. I left it on three (by mistake) and my fuel gauge went up to half way (from 1/4 full). Now it seems to be going down faster??

Weird thing was I filled the tank today and after I did that my MPG readout was 99.9 and the more I drove the lower it went!!!!!

When I was driving home from work it seemed to be right again....

I'm confused!!! :S (m)
