I have a set of OZ titans 16". Having gone thro a set of Avon ZV 1's in about a year (approx 15k miles) i am reluctant to buy these again due to the short life they gave me. Any suggestions for a decent hard long life (ish) tyre that will give me at least 20k miles. i havent lowered the car yet but am planning on upgrading the suspension in the near future. any recommendations of a good quality ride that will suit this wheel size without compromising the ride quality too much. many thanks. :)

avons aren't very good.

my favourites are uniroyal rallye 540's, superb longitudal grip, especially in the wet. they are quite soft, but because you slide around less (due to more grip) you don't wear them. sometimes harder tyres can wear quicker as you're 'out of grip' more.

i have heard that yoko 539's are quite hard wearing as well, as are goodyear eagle f1 GSD3's.

Michelins are very hard wearing' date=' but also very expensive![/quote']

always foubnd them too hard...so the have poor grip, and cause the end up sliding around everywhere didn't last long.

uniroyals all the way for me.

Yeh, totally agree, would never dream of using them myself! But he did ask which tyres were hard wearing to give a long life! ;)
