mickelson 0
I have a set of OZ titans 16". Having gone thro a set of Avon ZV 1's in about a year (approx 15k miles) i am reluctant to buy these again due to the short life they gave me. Any suggestions for a decent hard long life (ish) tyre that will give me at least 20k miles. i havent lowered the car yet but am planning on upgrading the suspension in the near future. any recommendations of a good quality ride that will suit this wheel size without compromising the ride quality too much. many thanks. acf8181 0
avons aren't very good.my favourites are uniroyal rallye 540's, superb longitudal grip, especially in the wet. they are quite soft, but because you slide around less (due to more grip) you don't wear them. sometimes harder tyres can wear quicker as you're 'out of grip' more.i have heard that yoko 539's are quite hard wearing as well, as are goodyear eagle f1 GSD3's. mark@vagworx 0
I'd steer clear of Yoko's or Toyo's if you're after a long wearing tyre.......i've had both. Both really grippy but soft! I've found in the past that Pirelli's are a great all rounder.
six appeal 53
Michelins are very hard wearing, but also very expensive!
binliner 0
Ive just bought some new tyres and just about everyone I spoke to recommended Goodyear F1s... they were a bit too pricy so I went for Toyos which Im well happy with.I'd agree with minty I had Pirelli P7000s which lasted and gripped well

andy c 0
My Toyo's have been on for 22,500 miles, I swapped front to back about 5K ago, I think theres another 5K left, then all 4 will be done in. If you haven't tried them, do, they are a bargain!
mark@vagworx 0
Jesus, that's superb life. I had 4 on my Ibiza Cupra 20vT and destroyed them in 6,000 miles!
acf8181 0
thats impressive for any tyres...but amazing for toyo's which seem to wear very fast. i take it you're a cruiser as opposed to a looony?
VR6Steve 0
The Dunlops on my Polo have lasted pretty well (except when the wheel alignment goes out :-( )Ageed Avons are crap. I have a set on the rear of my VR and don't think the grip is that good. The BF Goodrich's on the front are much better.

speedo 0
F1`s.. good compromise between quality and pocket friendlyness.. Recently purchased toyo`s, but gunna go back to F1 `s again next time, although the Toyo`s are quieter.. :? [ Edited Mon Aug 16 2004, 11:26PM ]
