duncs 0
hi guysmy vr has about 131k on the clock now and last year was flagged in the MOT that the wheel bearings may need attention.my questions are :-are wheel bearings a common failure in high miler golf 3's?what should i expect to pay to get both rear done, and is it advisable to also get discs replaced at the same time?cheersduncs

purple highline monster 0
i just had both mine done when i had brakes all round, the bearings themselves were about £12 from VW, if your gonna do it its worth getting discs too if they are worn as the bearing is pressed in and its easier to do it before you start the job, i also replaced the abs rings on the rear of the discs and the 8mm allen key carrier bolts as they always round out!!! also watch out for the pad carrier pins!! they are a barsteward to get out sometimes!
