As above really... I'm running 17" Audi TT's.. with a 40/60 drop (slightly lower on the rear)..have had the rears rolled and get the odd kerbing with a few passengers in the back...

Rub in the back every now and again, scrubs at the front when steering over bumps. Needs the rear arches rolling and the front raising and stiffening.

I think it looks better other way round, as in back higher than front. Plus when you accelerate the back drops down anyway

30-40 mm drop and TT comps.. common as muck now.. but do look gd..i was going to do the RS8 route but i think they look dated now, already been done... i did see a golf mk3 with 20'' RS8's on and it looked fucking stupid!! he beat the arches out with a hammer..(no joke)!!!

Mines on 17" RS4's mate and lowered 40 - 50mm on coilovers. Rubs on the front occasionally when on full lock.

I was thinking about going bigger but after E38 i'm thinking smaller but wider is theway to go, and you gotta get some seriously stretched tires!!!

Who recons i need to change them? I'll either get these fully polished or buy a propper blinging set with DEEEEEP rims??

Wide look sooooo good but i've been there and the widest i'll go now is 8s as they are easier to live with daily.

Don't get me wrong I loved my car with 9x16s all round but I got fed up with occasional rub and couldn't drive the car how I wanted/its meant to be driven.

So 8x16s max for me now and i'll preach all day long to people about the benefits of 16s over 17s. Ask most people who ask my advice on wheels

Only just got the 17s on, mainly as it's been a long project so had to see it through. After a few bits and some nice pics I'm gonna try and get me some 16s again. I fancy 9s on the back and 8s at the most for the front, like you say, you can't drive the car hard on 17s, especially if you have any decent looking slam on em. Bump, bounce, ding, scrub...etc...not as much fun as I'd like.
