Futch 0
Evening all,My N/S ABS sensor is broken. I attempted to remove it on the weekend so I could fit my new one, but it wouldn't budge!I have heard of people 'breaking them down' to remove, what is the best way to do this? Thanks. lee060 3
nice pair of jaws and twist the body(with the hole for the bolt in) should come out with the core and the coil of fine wire . the prceed to carefully break the plastic surround down that will be stuck in the hub , i find usually a really sharp chisel works well for this . whilst doing this be causious not to bend or damage the abs ringclean out the hole of corrosion and gently fit the new unit with a little lube , try to avoid using the bolt to tighten it in can cause it the crack . all the preivous i wrote is based on the 'average' ABS sensor ( i cant remebr if the Vr one is metal bodied or plastic or how its secured ) last one i did was on a nasty ford lol
Futch 0
Thanks Dreamer!I managed to get the sensor out with a chisel. The new one slipped in OK.The only problem I have now is the ABS lamp won't go out - do I need to disconnect the battery? Thanks
