adam_christie 0
Lol! You big show off you! Should be fairly straight forward mate. On the MK2 Golfs the dizzy's only held in with one bolt. Can't imagine it's much more complicated on a VR? Only thing I'd watch out for is the actual timing of the rotor arm. Make sure you mark up EVERYTHING before you dismantle it!
VRob6 0
all sorted. rotor arm, if anyone is interested, was just about welded on, had to chisel it off. two spring clips hold cap on, i numbered the leads, anti clockwise around so only had to remember where one of the leads had to go. refitting reversal of removal style.car now runs like an old high milage dream!Rob
thegoth 5
Easy Peasy then. I thought you where changing all the internal parts too. You might find that the rotor arm had a grub screw!
VRob6 0
two sorts. my mech mate ordered both as even local parts place were not sure even with reg number etc. the one with the screw was the wrong one. the one i needed was the black plastic one that just slips on. hopefully not off. mechanic once again commented on how well bolted together the whole of this vr appears to be. shame he bought a scooby!cheers guys.Rob
