bettan 0 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 Hi I have a vw vr6 year 96 and have a problem in that when I drive more than a few miles the coolant starts to bubble out of the overfill hole , I let it cool down fille with glycol (red) and water and can continue driving is this a head gasket problem or what also the warm heating stopped working is this a thermostat problem. many thanks for any advice Link to post Share on other sites
craggsy 91 Posted September 11, 2007 Report Share Posted September 11, 2007 Try changing cap on expansion bottle. It could just be air trapped in the system. They are cheap fixes if it is one of them. If it is thermostat then it might be more expensive as thermostat housing can crack when you take it off Link to post Share on other sites
