VW dealership broke my car

What a nightmare you have had mate! If I were you, in the future i'd do as much as you can yourself and find a RELIABLE VW specialist to do the bits you can't do. Some main dealers make all their money on people who just want the very best for their car and it's wrong when they give you nothing but sheeeeiiiiite service. I really feel for you mate.

Tell me about it, I have just e-mailed the Service Manager again.

This time I'm going to phone VW UK try speak to a national service manager, I'm going to demand their ISO procedures on replacing an ABS cable to the satisfaction that wont compromise safety.

Also this agrage ripped me off which I won't stand for... these companies have too much money employing to many Shite staff. seems to me if they have not got a computer to do a job they have not got a clue what they're doing. Ok skool basics is what's required.

VW specialists alway take alot more pride in their work I think and really want to keep their reputation, dealerships just want you in and out soon as, dealerships quite often run on bonuses aswel (ie this many jobs need doing in a day, this job should take X mins, that job X mins)

If more dealerships worked like specialists do they'd be so much better off! Look at Stealth, people travel hundreds of miles because of word of mouth and reputation (and Vince hahaha) Not many garages can even hope for that

Know what you mean maybe it would be a good idea to publish a database where based on peoples experiences where a garage has gone that extra mile to get a problem solved having knowledgeable staff.

The above would be a great idea, mt little sister had been looking for a mk4 golf for likr 6 months ( not listrning to any of my advice, but anyone here with a younger sister will porbably know how much of a headache they can be!)

so about 3 weeks ago,, she buys a 53 plate 1.4 match with climate, cost £7,000!!! The dealer wouldnt chuck in a set of mats for her ( i did tell her to tell them where to shove their £60;00 mats, but she didnt listen, 3 days after collecting the car, the front nearside track rod end starts to make a squeeking noise, the external temp sensor wasnt working, and one of the headlight main beam bulb was gone, she took the car to v.w romford., eho held onto the car for 3 days, as no-body wanted to repair the car as "they couldnt understand how a car with 38000 miles could have these problems". luckily for them, they decided on the fourth day that brentwood decided to pay for the works, otherwise i would have personally made sure that mr. vw would have had to spend a hell of a lot more than 7k rebuilding his dealership.

complain all you want, bottom line is VW couldnt give a monkeys arse about you and your 10 year old car that requires a bit more care and attention than simply plugging into a computer.

your paying £50;00 odd an hour, what do you think the grease monkey down there is being paid £8:00, they see your car as relatively worthless, so they put kids on them.

I called VW head office today spoke to a helpfull lady who has asked me to take my car to another VW dealership for a second opinion on the work carried out by the other VW delaership who claimed to have fixed the problem, VW's technition at their main office has said that AN ABS cable should be replaced completely to the ABS module, and it's against all procedure to cut an AMS cable and joint it an old cable.

Things are getting interesting !!!!! watch this space

A friend of mine had a Diesel PD130 Passet which he took to VW for a 60k CamBelt Service. Less than 50 miles later the belt was ripped to pieces. It was all blamed on a failed tensioner which seems very convinient, they were very keen to get the belt back too which fortunately he held onto. Anyway alot of complaining, logging phone calls, and pressure later and he had a brand new top end and some compo! He deserved it too. He did have to fight all the way. I'll see if i can find the pic of the belt!

Hope you stick with it and put them in there place!! It's just totally unacceptable!

Thats really bad glad it all got sorted out today.

I had a result today also!!!!

I went to another dealership spoke to the brand manager, he out me on to the service manager.

They checked the wiring and agreed that it should have been wired direct into the ABS module, they then put the car on VAG-COM, turns out the the problem all the time has been a near side rear ABS sensor that's been causing the problem, Had the origional VW delaership discovered this there would have been no problem.

I purchased a new in fact I just come in from fitting it, what a shite was I had to remove the rear hub completely as the Bast**D snapped off when I tried to get it out, test drove it, ABS light went off.

Happy chap I am, goes to show that there are delarships that can actually identify the problem

£84 for a rear ABS sensor that's expensive!!!!

Anyone know where to get them cheaper?
