nickbee 1
It's been fun, but unfortunately now that I have a mortgage and bills, the VR is just too expensive. I knew when I bought a place that I might eventually have to sell her, but now it's come to it, I'm gutted. The wheels are already sold and I've removed all the styling mods, so now it looks just like any other VR6, and over the next couple of weeks I'll have some help taking everything else off. The bits are probably worth as much as the car! There's a mk2 16v with my name on it, which should soften the blow, but I am going to miss it.I'll keep you all updated.Nick

nickbee 1
I'll sell the VR privately and then buy a mk2. I might eventually go for a 2.0 16v instead of a VR, take advantage of the whole mk2 handling thing.

jcorallo 0
Yep - I'm off too - I've also bought a flat and bought a MKII!!!! How spooky is that?I blame the housing market...... ~I've allready sold the Schrick and the Charger and spent the weekend putting the engine back to normal... I've got sooooo many VR bits to clear, I might just have to order a skip!!! What next I hear you say? Well - the 55mpg GTD MKII is going strong so I'll be keeping that, but it might be a Cerbera for the weekends. I've got an Eaton Supercharger looking for a home.... antera309 3
Sorry to hear Gordon Brown's excessive Stamp Duty has forced you to part with your ride. I feel your pain, man.How much did you get for the wheels, as a matter of interest?
dubloke 4
will still expect to see your face at some of the shows mate, the ones you can make it to of course when you're not at an ideal homes convention or down to argos choosing a new ironing board! i've also seen a nice line in window box flowers if you want me to send you the number to ring? nickbee 1
I sold the wheels to GrahamVR6 (b'locks on CGTI) for £350, plus his Solitudes and brand new rubber. Might have been able to get more for them, but I did promise a long time ago that if I ever sold them he'd have first refusal.I think the sale of the Recaros is going to turn into World War III...
