Dave spent about 20 Mins fiddling with the wiring as my immobiliser threw its dummies out the pram and we also made one small mistake of putting the fuel lines on the wrong way round! So once Dave had had a nice shower of fuel from Jerry we managed to get him started.

Engine wound over a few times then there was a little splutter from it and it fired :-d

As you may tell from the video there is no zorst on it at the moment but the engine sounds fine from what we heard considering its been out of a car for quite some time it seems to run very smoothly.

Hopefully this weekend we'll get all the rad and that sorted on it and maybe get it moving :-d

I'm sooo Proud over Dave he's done a brilliant job - But gotta say thanks to Rich, Jim, Dan and Tris who have also leant a hand along the way

Bit more fiddling today...

Bled all the brakes and the clutch so we can now get it in gear!

Also done the power steering fluid so the steering wheel works too.

And finally got the adapter section for the exhaust so it sounds a little nicer now! :D

And finally, after hours of working, Jerry moved!!!!!!! :D:D:D

Well not quite gone for a drive yet as my prototype solid front mount is still in the making. But Jerrys lungs turned up this weekend - BMC CDA induction kit.

Were going to use mk3 clocks in him so thats the next challenge and also were having a few teething problems with the clutch pedal.

Got a few more jobs to do on him but were gonna sort all that out and get him ready for the road in Feb and his first proper outing at Ultimate dubs in March :)

But all in all wer happy with the engine - its sounding alot better now with some fresh oil!!!!

no prob.

looks like he knows what he is doing anyway.

Well he's done well considering he's never done a Mk2 VR6 conversion before!!!! Must admit this forum is great for Mk3 VR6's but I think we would of had so many more problems if Mk2VR6.com wasn't about. There is a font of knowledge on there about the converting your mk2

awesome work!

how much vibration do you feel from the engine now?

We ran a solid mount with the gti engine and there was a slight vibration when we started the car up but now with the VR6 engine in and the shortened solid mount there is no vibration at all not even on start up!!!!

If any one is interested the Mk2VR6 T-mount will be going into production soon and they will be priced at £30 + delivery
