vr6newcomer 1
hi there, i have a simple view on this, we all bang on about the V.R roar, blah...blah...blah. My exhaust is completely standard, had work done on the inlet, got a k & n filter, so i was pretty much expecting the exhaust to go next. now i know my car, i know its quick, i dont want to make any noise, infact if it wasnt for the performance factor i wld seriously be tempted to go o.e. my cars a daily driver and i want noise to be minimum,a mate had a £750:00, mini drager exhaust put on a civic vtech, we drove to the motorshow in birmingham, and it was like going there in a washng machine on super fast spin mode.So i was wondering which system is quietest out of the stuff thats out there? probably will also go for a de-cat pipe, probably e jetex or milltek, cheers guys. cadguy77 0
I've got a 2 box jetex and have heard a miltek twin jet. outta the 2 the jetex is much louder imo, but mine is a 2 box system, the 3 box might be quieter
Kelster 0
I have a Magnex exhaust on mine and I do not think it is anywhere near as noisy as the others available.
binliner 0
why not leave the standard one on? most people do it for looks & noise really as on an n/a car you won't gain a lot for the money. otherwise get one custom made and specify you want performance rather than volume
patpong_pete 0
as binliner says leave the standard one on? i had jetex twin 80mm 2 box cat back systemlooked ok sounded ok but with the standard exhaust i could hear the Bmc filtermore as it was not getting drowned out by the jetex so took it off and sold itplus big bore exhaust people expect it to be quick because it sounds loudsave your money stick with the vag std one its fine and not ott
SankysVR6 1
I got custom because i wanted it to be quiet, but also wanted the tailpipes to look the part.So i had 3 box system put on with slash cut tailpipes[lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1190983681_611_FT197702_g_no_rear_plate.jpg][/lightbox]
H19LNE 0
I've got a 3 box full thru jetex exhaust system its very quiet just like the standard system but it sounds really sweet at high revs especially with the BMC CDA. After a long motrway drive the exhaust sounds nice and deep and u can always have a conversation in the car at 70mph.
vr6madmike 0
Im just about to fit my Jetex 3 box system tomorrow so will let you know what I think from standard as im not a fan of loud pipes!
drue1 0
why dont you just get some nice tail pipes welded too the standard box........just a thought ??
vr6madmike 0
I used to have tips welded to the back box, serves a purpose looks good, fitted the Jetex today, the faster you go the quieter it is! Its very deep at low revs but it hasnt had time to coke up yet, very pleased with it tho!

vr6newcomer 1
so a jetex 3 box system is the best to go for?
mike 6
i had a jetex system (oval) with 2 box's and it sounded almost same as standard exhaust, wich isnt what i wanted at the time. my magnex is slighlty louder
Buzzark 0
The supersprint exhausts are supposed to give the performance increases with minimal noise over the OE exhausts.Have one fitted to mine and it does sound pretty much standard.
