might3 0
I have been getting a really strong smell of fuel coming in the car recently. It doesn't happen all the time though. Looking under the bonnet I can see the fuel lines going to the fuel rail but no signs of any leaks. Is it a common problem on golf vr6's?

MarkGolf 6
I just had this..Where the flexible fuel line meets the 'thinner' line on the bracket that is attached to the offside suspension turrent (this is a common area to give way and cause the fuel smell..)Simply undo it, rid of the dodgey VW clip, if needed, cut the pipe a little bit then use a jubilee clip to re-attaches pipes..Thing is, I cud never see the fuel as it evaporated so quick, but lucky had a lok when engine was running and saw the leak..U may have the same prob..
