Stoo the worm 0
My abs light has come on the other day, so i read the codes, and it is telling me that the left rear sensor has gone....as the car is relitively new to me, and i am without a manual at the moment, im not to sure where it is located.....im guessing that they are in the rear hub...so if anybody could shed some light on the where abouts of the rear sensors, that would be great....and any advice on there removal.Cheers
Karr-Man 0
yes theyre in the hub, theres more than one type of sensor so make sure u get the right one.if u have the same abs ecu as me (under the back seat) its very easy to locate the sensor, u can just flip up the back seat and follow the cable from the ecu thru the floor to the back hub.be careful on the removal cos they are likely to fall apart as u try to take them out leaving half the sensor stuck in the hole. if this happen s it should be possible to line up the wheel bolt hole with the sensor and use a screwdriver with a hammer to knock out the remainder, but its a tricky operation (trust me i know)of course theres more than one type of sensor and theres three types of abs ecu i know of so this info may not be helpful if u have a different system:/gl
Stoo the worm 0
Thanks mate...the car is a 96, and last time i flipped up the back seat, cant remeber seeing anything but wires (I guess these are the sensor wires), do you know from what year the ecu is located there, and if mine isnt there, where it might be.Thanks again
Karr-Man 0
i think on the later cars its an all in one unit ecu and pump which would be under the bonnet probably on the bulkhead...but someone with a later car should be able to confirm this????
