mazavr6 0 Posted October 3, 2007 Report Share Posted October 3, 2007 Checking my car the other day and i found some white stuff under the oil filler cap is that natural for car done 120k.Cos my last car was like that i took it ti mechnic he told me they all like that high mileage :-| Or is my head on the way out i check the water level fine and no oil mixing in that Link to post Share on other sites

thegoth 5 Posted October 3, 2007 Report Share Posted October 3, 2007 It's not unheard of for the internals of the oil cooler to fail allowing your water and oil to mix there causing the same mayo symptoms as a head gasket failure.I'can't drive mine for only 5 mins. My journey to work which takes me 7 mins in the GTi always takes me over 20 whenever I take the VR :-D Link to post Share on other sites

Chances are if the headgasket is gone and water is getting in the oil, there will be oil in the water.As craggsy said, could just be condensation in the oil. Link to post Share on other sites
