turbo_ted 0
opening up the car tonight and noticed theres a pond in the rear footwell, nice! now, its only in the rear drivers side, all the other carpets are dry.so im just wondering if there are any common leak ares for the mk3's?the roof lining is completly dry, as is around the sunroof and ariel. i also lifted the rear seats to see if it had'nt made its way thru from the boot lid, but thats dry too.so its leading me to think its gotta be the drivers door leaking, but then surly the drivers footwell would be soaked too??complety baffled by this one, anyhelp would be great. *-)

GRIFFO69 0
the problem i found it to be is the rear lights.. seal all around lights and also seal the weld just below the rear lights..The water runs throught the light and under the carpet and down behind the rear seats onto the floor.. COMMON FAULT
bulldog 2
My VR had the same problem it turned out to be the pipes from the sunroof, my old MK2 had the same problem and that was the rear light seat, so I cleaned it up and siliconed it in, that cured it.
c4mbl 1
same as above for me, happened to me a few weeks ago, so cleared the sunroof drain pipes at the two front doors (inside the door, when u open it, at front side of car) and that worked a treat.
