Lizard Racing 0
It may sound obvious but just check that your plugs are tight. VRs run a chain also, I hope someone hasn't been telling you porkies!
mazavr6 0
What about when ever i go over a bump i hear the same rattle doing my head in

Lizard Racing 0
Find a hill with some speed humps or bumps and switch off engine. and free wheel down it safely. If it still does it you know its more than likely not any of the engines moving parts.
Lizard Racing 0
Strange that it was done so early though.

mazavr6 0
Ok iam back lolWhen i first started the engine no sound then after taken round the block a few times it came back.So i tryed doing what u said swtich the engine off and free roll and i could still hear the rattle it sounds like a small knocking as well when ever i go over a bump sounds like its coming from the front some were like the wheel but then again how can it be the wheel when i can hear it when i rev up slow. Lizard Racing 0
Engine vibration can cause a resonance frequency that will rattle things at certain RPM, similar to wheel wobble at 65-70mph in most cars. Does it sound like a light metal object or a heavy solid object? Could be dampers, springs, ball joints, anti roll bar drop links, brake disc cover plate etc. Remove the wheels and jiggle a few things. Try also bouncing the front up and down whilst stationary and without the engine running.
mazavr6 0
It sounds like a very faint but deep knocking when i reving up but when i free roll its the same sounds but sounds like rattle lol hard to explain with u hearing it

daleyboyVR6 6
thats really early for a timing chain change mines done 97k and i cant hear any noise at all, they reckon around the 100k mark, but some cars have done well over that and are still fine, just to check you have an OBD 1 engine?................. :-p
