Steve :S these are my photo's above and below? they are my two youngest children Maddalena & James

Sun Rain Snow Hail stones and Strong Wind, Iceland's weather system changed every hour, every day.

What we did notice about visiting these wonderful places, they weren't fenced off for safety reasons

or damaging the area with stupid signs and didn't have to pay a stupid fee, its all FREE.

This was volcano Kerid

Great pics it looks amazing' date=' trouble is i was showing the misses

and after flicking through she says to me .............................where the shops :-|

[/quote']

LOL @ Gav. Tell your misses I'll post them up later all the shops are in the city Reykjavik &

Hafnarfjordur which are next door to each other? That is it, Its not a place to shop Iceland.

Like everything else its very expensive Between £10 & £12 for a pint

Pubs & clubs don't open during the week only weekend from Friday they open from 10pm.

Unless your in a hotel bar then you let the pint last you all night LOL.

Cup of coffee in cafe or survivor shop £5

My son went into a bakers for a ring donut £4, I double checked he wasn't get ripped off!

We had the best mug of hot chocolate after seeing Gullfoss it worked out @ £7 each

and there was 4 of us.

We were lucky to eat at one of her family's homes most evenings.

We did go to a resturant, two course meal for 4 with a bottle of house wine,

2 pints, 2 cokes came to £260.00

Eating, while I was out there I did try Puffin, mink whale, catfish and Guillemot.

No steaks on the menu all types of fish and whale they do have chicken, lamb and horse.

We did find a Domino's pizza lol medium cheese & tomato pizza for £15!

Meat feast worked out £19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kids looked to see what the expensive one was £24 for 1 large pizza

Its cheaper for the Islanders to get a flight ticket to Heathrow and shop over here!

That what her family do, they fly over about 5 times a year just to shop.

Its the only European place where you can take double the amount of alcohol duty with you

and they have a duty free shop before you pick up you luggage,

Its crazy as you see people in there with shopping trolleys.

There is one major road A1 which goes around the Island away

from Reykjavik through the laver fields and you will not see no one for miles.

The small roads are unmarked and there is no lighting of these roads.

Light pollution is zero, clear night is amazing northern lights and the stars brighten the night up.

More pics later and yes I did find a sex shop.

  • 4 weeks later...

After my little win full the weekend I hope to go back

end of Feb for 4 days hopefully to see the northern lights.

Here are a few pic of the city Reykavik remember always take your swim wear with you

after shopping you can go for a dip in there hot tubs and pool or go to the beach!

Yes Reykjavik has a thermal beach,

It has two fresh water swimming/wading pools more like oversized hot tubs, both with heated fresh water.

The two hot pots are kept at about 38 degrees Celsius (about 100 Fahrenheit)

and the Alantic ocean swimming area is about 30 degrees Celsius (about 86 Fahrenheit).
