woodz77 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 basically i didnt use my car yesturday and went out just now to use it and it wont tick over on its own ?i can start it and leave my foot on the throttle and its fine but as i remove it it just drops and dies .i know when ive had vauxhall you can stick a paperclip in the dianostic port and short it out , and then you count the flash codes on the engine management light and then look it up on a web page and it tells you what the faults are . can i do this on a glof ?its a golf vr6 on a N reg ?if you can , where is the dianostic plug located on a golf ? and has anyone got a link to find what the flash codes mean ??thanks in advance !! Buzzark 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Share Posted October 23, 2007 I don't think so no.The diagnostic plug is located behind a panel just above the ashtry in the centre console.Using a paperclip isn't normally to short out an OBDC unit, it's used to press a recessed microswitch. Shorting out an OBDC connector is likely to result in a dead ECU and a bill. Link to post Share on other sites
