antone28 0
Hi, im nearing the end of converting my vr6 to turbo, i was wondering if there are any big disadvantages with having the standard ecu remapped,I know stealth can do it for me ,but would it be worth spending a bit more money and get an emerald system or similar
powernut 1
just a idea my friend had his std ecu sent off to c2 tuning and basicly ended up sending it back ,as the engine wouldnt right ,so he seems to think hi vr6 will run fine with a std ecu ,36lb injectors,4inch maf houseing,obd2 and turbo kit runing at 9psi without head spacer? antone28 0
Yeah a few of my friends are runninng vr6's with superchargers ,and close to 300 bhp with a remap on the standard ecu,I might try what some of the other forum members have done and use a rising rate fuel pressure reg . just to get the conversion up and running and then when im happy with everything , go for the bigger injectors and a remap . FishWick 21
Your engine will barely idle with 42cc injectors :-)42lb you must mean, or 440cc?400hp easily achievable with that, but it will depend on what management you use etc.
markiev6 1
my obd1 turbo is running 500bhp on a remapped vr6 ecu !! 19 psi with 440cc injectors and runs well no missing and idles fine all depends who you get to do your remap!!!
antone28 0
That sounds good im looking for around 400 bhp , my previous car was a 16v t golf that i built myself it had 260bhp and did 13.8 quarter mile with loads of wheelspin so im hoping to beat that. the only thing im not sure about is this thing about having a 4" maf housing can someone tell me why that is needed. antone28 0
also who did your remap
markiev6 1
you will need a 4" maff its so you can get more air flow round the senser, i started off with 3" and it just over fueled badly ill speek to my mate and find out if he still does the map for obd1
antone28 0
ok, thanks. is it just the maff housing that has to be 4 " or is it the pipe work after it aswell.
antone28 0
Ok i just did some research and i fully understand what the 4" maff housing does now or any other alteration of the size of the maf housing.
