Seen some, but they have 205 / 50 / 16 tyres.Do you think the aspect ratio of 50 will fit with no rubbing? My car is not lowered. It would be great if they did beacuse they're good tyres, and obviously it would be nice not to have to fork out for four new ones.Thanks. Link to post Share on other sites
gloster 0 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Share Posted November 4, 2007 Not a specialist on the subject but they should fit... only problem is it will change the outer diameter so will put your speedo out, all be it slightly?Used to be a tyre calculator thingy on here but wasn't working last time I went to use it.Hope this helps. It's just that the tyres are good quality Yokos wth a fair amount of tread, and it would be great to be able to use them, even just for a couple of months. The other option would be to replace my two front tyres at the moment, but if I could get these 16"s to work that would be great. The Speedo thing is certainly an issue to take into consideration. Would I have to always watch I was driving UNDER the limit? Link to post Share on other sites
mannie 0 Posted November 4, 2007 Report Share Posted November 4, 2007 If they fit then get them,don't worry too much about speedo,as long as you make allowance for your speed then what is the problem ?You will find your speedo maybe out by +/- 5% or so ,check it with a GPS. Does it seem like they'll fit without rubbing? Or would I need some spacers, if so, what amount either side? Link to post Share on other sites

amazak 3 Posted November 5, 2007 Report Share Posted November 5, 2007 On the MK3 you will need 205/45/16, it goes like this....205/50/15205/45/16205/40/17For every inch you go up in alloy size you will have to reduce the tyre ratio by 0.5. They will catch on the shocks. I recently attempted putting 225/45/17 's on my vr and the rears caught at the shocks. So in theory it is the same thing as you have 16" but the tyres are 50 profile.
