s3 Rich 0
My '93 VR6 seems to be using loads of water, there doesn't appear to be any obvious signs like seeping hoses that I can see, although I am having trouble with the interior steaming up after parking up, but not driving, which could mean heater matrix??There isnt excess steam from the exhaust after the engine warms up either.any sugestion anyone???regared, Richard
H19LNE 0
Is there any leak at the passenger side footwell?. If there is it could be the heater matrix. The damp inside the car could be causing the steaming up.
s3 Rich 0
i'll have a look tonight when I get home, it didn't seem to be steamed up this morning when I drove past it, I had a bad dream about a blown head gasket & warped head last night........
amazak 3
Yes it is the matrix, similiar thing happen to me, when parked up after driving the front window would mist up. Eventually one day the windows steamed up whilst stuck in traffic and the water started to leak out through the bottom vents and the water warning light came on, it is a pain to replace. s3 Rich 0
checked the passenger side a while back, dry as a bone. took her out for a 10 mile warm up & got a mild 'hot engine / new gasket sealant' smell, Popped the bonnet & could see a little steam coming from the bottom radiator hose area, theres not really much room to see, especially at night with a torch. let the thing cool down for a while, water level dropped to just below min, topped up & ran with lid off upto very warm, put cap back & will check in the morning, as I need top use it tommorow, 6am!!! ps, heater on obviously.Richard
