ventovr6essex1 0
ok fella will have a go at that 2morrow
richievr 1
there should be 2x4 pin ones and 1x2 pin one...i take it you have aircon?the 4 pin brown one is for that, normally on the end furthest away from the engine.the other 4 pin (black and blue) does the temp gauge and aux water pump.(usually in the middle)the 2 pin does the temperature for the ecu...(closest to engine)[lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1196111423_594_FT208059_temp_switches.jpg][/lightbox]
ventovr6essex1 0
right i have a yellow 4 pin . a blue 2 pin a black 2 pin so i wanna change the blue 2 pin ? my car is obd2 n plate without ac not sure why i have 3 sensors
richievr 1
i don't know why you have 3 sensors either? odd.is the yellow one the colour of the plug or the switch itself?just been outside to look at mine - i have a yellow 4 pin plug going onto a brown(ish) switch and a blue 2 pin one.. i have no aircon either..if it were me i would change the blue 2 pin one, as the black 2 pin is listed as "for vehicles with 3 stage fan".. see pic above, number 7. but i am not 100% sure so would have to advise getting it checked - unless a switch is about a tenner . ventovr6essex1 0
the plug and switch are both yellow . then the other plugs and switches are again match . unless when my car was built they ony had a/c engine looms ? my old obd1 car only had 2 thats whats thrown me to be honest . both dont have a/c i will have a go at changing the blue switch and let ya know how i get on. also i will beable to use my mates sun code reader at the week end that can see all the sensors so i will pull each 1 off and see what it does . vimtovento 0
My OBD1 Vento also has three switchs in the housing. With regards to over fueling are you getting a cloud of brownish smoke if you boot it? I am and i'm getting quite a rich smelling exaust (like my carbed rocco used to smell like) could this be caused/solved by replacing the temp sensor like you mention above? I thought it might be the MAF going faulty?
ventovr6essex1 0
i have tryed another maf . of my old car it was a missfire at very low rpm not leads coil pack ect also changed over the cam sensor as that was very dirly . swaped over my stanless system including lambda probe fault is still there . i can now see that its running far to rich sooting up my decated stanless exhuast badly even over a few miles . There was hardly anything left of the cat suspect the overfueling is causing the misfire same as if u pull the choke out to much . no codes are stored in the ecu but have not been able to see what the sensors on the engine are doing as of yet . should be able to this weekend with my freinds code reader . only other posibilty is that it might have been chiped / ecu has got the hump . kilokilla 0
The blue temp sensor is the one that causes the most probs as this tells the ecu what the engine temp is has as been said the 4 pin yellow one controls the fans and i think temp gauge and the other one is for the aircon system which if i recall right is generally brown and is only fitted on cars with aircon .but people go to places and get alternative aftermarket switches which can cause loads of running issues unplug the blue one when car is running and see if it makes any difference to the smoothness

ventovr6essex1 0
i would say that its not had retro fit ac as it has thermo tronic on it as did my old car . found me overfueling fault / rough running. borrowed the cylinder leakage tester from work passed with flying colours but noticed number 1 plug was very black carried out compression test again cylinder no 1 125 psi the rest 150 to 175 psi so ive found me problem . im happy its not a managment fault now so im going to rebulid the engine out of my bent car as that was really strong anyway .
