jws vr6 0
Went to my car today about an hour, hour and half after i parked it up and tried to start it and all i got was a ckick, flat battery. Popped the bonnet and the auxilliary water pump was running, not sure if it was running before i tried to start the car tho. Tried disconnecting each of the three sensors on the thermostat housing and it still ran, so disconnected the pump and jump started the car. Any ideas what s causing this? SankysVR6 1
The auxiliary pump starts to run soon as you turn on the ignition. It then should go off after about 10-15mins, after the engine has switched off.

caddyrage 0
The auxillary pump Should run on after switching car off. If it does'nt then its fooked like mine, hence i ordered a brand spanker from vw cause i heard gsf 1's dont last as long.
xyber 1
Doent the aux pump only run on if the temp is high enough? Mine rarely runs on, but its in perfect order as I tested it by jumpering 2 of the terminals on the sensor plug on the stat housing

Dragon6 0
Just checked my aux water pump out of curiosity and it runs fine with ignition switched to 1st turn, but the pump didnt run on when I checked after a drive oil at 92deg water at 90deg after ignition switched off.Should it be running on after ever single run or only when engine v hot ie main fans running and the ignition is tuned off?
