Phat VR6 3
Ive just got VAG.COM and while there I notest this, It clames you can remap your car, along other things, your self which I can't see been true. Has anyone brought this and done anythink good with it?If anythink I would like to increase my redline, do you think its possible with this software, anyone used it beforehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ECU-REMAPPING-CHIP-TUNING-OBD-CAR-DIAGNOSTIC-SOFTWARE_W0QQitemZ150201972864QQihZ005QQcategoryZ30921QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers Tom
xyber 1
I wouldnt touch the map, theres alot more envolved that tweaking settings on a screen, if it does allow you to do this then it would basically be a d.i.y custom remap, but without a RR and A/F ratio monitor etc you'd have no chance of doing a proper job and probably screw your engine
Phat VR6 3
Yer thats what I thought, I wouldn't trust myself messing with the map earther. How about raising the redline tho? I can imagine it been quite simple, Or removing the solf limiter
6potmkII 0
raising the red line would require some sort of map for the extra revs you give it, will need more fuel and maybe differant ignition timing it dont think its just the case of raising the limiter.... jims13 6
you cant do it with a generic ebay cable. you need a ecu flasher...ive got a kwp2000 unit, and can do milage correction etc..i also have ecu files, but have left them well alone, at the moment..it may be up for sale if your intrested.. FishWick 21
You can't remap OBD1 or OBD2 ECUs over the serial port. You need to do it on a new chip with emulation hardware and software. The rev limit is set on the chip and can't be changed via VAG-COM. No point raising it anyway as the standard cams are a limiting factor at the top end.I think that stuff is mainly for engines like the 1,8T which can be reprogrammed via the OBD2 port, hence the likes of Revo making a killing..... cause it's quick and easy :-)
