3narf 0
Hello- anyone with a Sharan have problems with water accumulating in the driver footwell? Is there a quick fix (obvious- drill a hole in the floor)?
jezmoz 0
if it's anything like a golf ...water can come in through the bonnet release cable, if the grommet has perished, also check the scuttle panel for blockages, otherwise it could be a leaking heater matrix? or a dodgy window seal, take the door card off and have a look if the mebrane is damaged>? ingham 5
if your looking for a leak in window seal try throwing a bucket of soapy water over the car and turn on blowers and look for bubbles on leaking spot ,dont forget to rinse the car after
philbatesvr6 0
have you checked you rwater level as it could be your heater matrix leakin or dip your finger in the water and lick it if it tasts sweet then is the matrix
3narf 0
Many thanks, all.I thought I'd sorted it because the scuttle was blocked, but it's just as bad today...
Sharan 0
I have the same problem with mine but in the passenger foot well. I thought it was the rear washer pipe as there is a join just as the wires come through the body-but it wasn't. If you check the removable panels coming round the bottom of the windscreen, you might find that the felt grommits have perrished. I put some no more nails in the hole and it has reduced it! I'm sure its not VW approved!!
3narf 0
Thanks a lot. It's not radiator water as it's not sweet. Seems to have improved slightly but not completely. I'll try those grommets next...
gareth237 0
I'm just buying a galaxy with the Vr6 engine and a mechanic friend told me to look out for wet carpets in the front. apparently it can be the pollen filter under the bonnet which if not fitted/seated quite right can cause leak. I know this is an old thread but maybe will be of help to some one.G
Dstig88 0
Hi, I know this is a real old thread. But if the car has a sunroof fitted. It could be the drains for that blocked. Had the issue with my mk1 galaxy vr6.
VR6Pete 1,455
Yes more than likely mate. Or the foliage seal in the scuttle panel.
