Paul1982 0
What year and mileage is your car??Either the bhp of your car has been up'd some how or Stealths Dyno is out a bit. Or your car is a late 1996 onwards with a ODB2 engine which produce 190-200bhp standard :-)
VR6Pete 1,455
I'd say neather Paul.... It's not unusual for a standard VR6 to be pushing that. Never known vinces rollers be out once over the last 4 -5 years ive been going there, and based on countless club RR days...Just look at the results from one of the events;http://www.vr6oc.com/results.html11 Andy Wootton Mk3 Golf VR6 1997 None 174 BHP 195.2 BHP 149.6 BHP 47.8 BHP 186.0 lbft thats 195BHP from a standard VR6...I'm sure TheGoth got over 200BHP from his lump. at the last rr day.mine made 201BHP, with just a BMC CDA and powerflow exahust..pete
thegoth 5
I'm sure TheGoth got over 200BHP from his lump. at the last rr day.I have come to the conclusion that the rollers in Cheshire where optimistic. At perfect touch a fortnight ago two standard golfs and a standard corrado where spot on book values and Jim Potter's was top at 189 so there is little chance of mine really being 201 :-( On the plus side the 16ver made 160 at Perfect Touch, which is 10 more than book. Paul1982 0
Its amazing what the differences of rollers can be - Saying that Goth your 201.5bhp could have been just after a service in a good temperature with good fuel. Some garages can have sh*tty fuel some times etc etc
Paul1982 0
So does anyone have any VR figures with a superchip on etc Cos i'm sure my car is over 210bhp
Aliando 0
its got 51 k on the clock and yes its an obd2 .
Paul1982 0
Then you have a nice healthy OBD2 mate :-)

jesterwalker69 0
I have come to the conclusion that the rollers in Cheshire where optimistic. Lies!!! i refuse to believe that!! hahaOr your car is a late 1996 onwards with a ODB2 engine which produce 190-200bhp standard :-)190-200bhp standard?!? Never heard that one before! Generally its 180-190 standard...?
Cowpatmatt 0
the only way to truely know is to take the engine out and test on an engine dyno. But to be honest that still means bugger all because hp at the wheels is the important one.You could have a great engine but crap transmission loss.A big factor with dyno's is tyre pressure. alot of people run different tyre pressures and it will effect the read out. more pressure tends to show more bhp. VR6Pete 1,455
those figures i posted are over 3 years old now dont forget..I had my VR rolling roaded at stealth, it got 215BHP, then at powerstation it was 218BHP, only a few weeks apart. so either they are both out, coincidence, or just backs up the original figure. but, its how it goes on the road that counts, don't get lost in a sea of pub talk about BHP figures!if it drives well, who cares?
