mike 6
hi mate, from what i understand chip's dont relaly do much or anything for standard vr6's. yours is an OBD1 which can see a small gain i think from a chip, but i wouldnt bother tbh, do teh exhaust, induction kit, 6 branch...plenty of better ways to gain power

Slimkrazy 0
Thought I'd re open this as I'm looking at a few different mods to make, so is there likely to be a power gain or is it a waste of money?I have an R reg 97 model, not sure what engine type. I basically just want a few power gain ideas that aren't going to bankrupt me.
Antihero1981 8
doing anything on a vr6 aint cheap..i would say a good exhaust and induction kit......induction kit mostly for the noise.....cams are good but costly
craggsy 91
Mines '95 M' date=' 203BHP ;-) remapped at Stealth[/quote']Remapping is different to buying a chip and putting that in I will add....I know Gary knows that
VR6Pete 1,455
R Reg 1997 will be an OBD2.
Slimkrazy 0
Looks like I'm staying standard! hahaThanks anyway
VR6Pete 1,455
why's that? if your after doing a few bits, get a BMC, exhaust to start with.
rodney 17
you can do it quite cost effecftively. 2nd hand ones are always popping up. Or new is not as expensive as you think.... Zorst can be a similar cost to replacing the standard parts...my made to measure was cheaper and I will never have to change it again. It is free for life.... Trust us all. As soon as you do the basic mods you will be like why didnt i do it years ago. It doesnt have to be chavtastic. It can be nice a subtle....
rodney 17
in fact if this is your thing... I havent checked it out at all it just popped up LOLhttp://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?243937
PaulGT4RC 0
I had a full de-cat Milltek system installed.. cant say I noticed much in power increase myself. Is it a subtle change or am I expecting to much?I also have a Pipercross induction.. I'll say this.. it sounds bloody awsome!
FishWick 21
A BMC CDA filter, Schimmel 263 cams and a Stealth remap is where I'd start if I were new to VR6s.Much less than £1K for the whole lot and a much smoother, punchier engine is the result. After that, the only night / day difference will be forced induction.
